This unique ram combines some of the hottest genetics in the Dorset club lamb industry.  Sired by Smarty Jones and out of a Martin ewe (Primetime x Moffat), "405" combines great touch, excellent hide, and that cool club lamb rib shape in an eye appealing package.

"Smarty Jones"  Martin Orange 323

The top selling Dorset ram at $3400 at the Golden Opportunity I sale.

Budd Martin describes "Smarty Jones" as "The best hided wether ram yet with a top like a blackface.  Super pretty and sound, he's of moderate frame size".  He is sired by "Man-O-War" and his dam is Jones Dorsets 73 which Budd purchased at the 2002 Midwest Stud Ram Sale.  A ram lamb by the Jones ewe tied for top selling honors of the ram lambs at the 2004 Martin Production Sale.  In addition, a Smarty Jones son topped the Dorset ram lambs at $2000 at the Golden Opportunity I sale.

The Smarty Jones legacy lives on at GT Dorsets thru a select group of daughters as well as our lead stud ram 405.  We believe so strongly in the Smarty Jones line that we purchased his dam in the Golden Opportunity II sale.
"Prime Time" Martin 0200  (click photo to enlarge)

"Prime Time" was the high selling sheep at the 2004 Martin Production Sale.  This stud is sired by "Freaky" and out of a "G.I. 95" daughter.  "Primetime" represents the pinnacle Martin Genetics combining the Style Plus and G.I. Lines.

Read below what Budd Martin had to say about "Prime Time" in 2004.

"General, G.I. and Man-O-War are the best three big rams I've raised in 36 years.  General won at the Ohio State Fair as a yearling.  All three rams are big but have sired champion wether sheep.  G.I. 95 was my best G.I son.  Born the year we had the Champion Ram at the Ohio Dorset Sale (1995).  The Style Plus line is my best wether line.  The blood lines show up many times.  We retained six stud rams and 75 replacement ewes from Prime Time in 2003.  We wethered but five lambs from this ram and with all five winning honors.  We had three class winners in the 2003 National Sale by this ram, and the Champion Dorset wether ewe at this year's Midwest, selling for $2900, was by Prime Time".

"Prime Time" is truly one of the hottest studs in the Dorset club lamb industry.  His three sons that sold in the Golden Opportunity I sale averaged almost $2000

Thanks to Budd and Cheri Martin for allowing us to purchase a select group of "Prime Time" daughters out of their keeper pen.  These females are the backbone of our flock.

Randy Lively called L-3 "The most consistent Dorset ram I have ever used."  This senior RRNN stud represents a complete outcross from our concentrated Martin genetics.  L-3 has sired numerous winners over the years and he and his progeny have influenced several of the top Dorset club lamb flocks in the country.
